My mother-in-law Lorraine had Alzheimer’s, and it was a heartbreaking sight. Her family also suffered and watched the abduction in fright. My husband would cook breakfast for his Mom each day, Trying to be a ray of sunshine come what may. One morning she said to her son, “Who are you, what’s your name?” “You know me Mother, I’m your son…” he quickly exclaimed. Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease that tears families apart. It robbed my husband of his Mother, and slowly broke his heart.

It saddens and saddens. Specialized counselling service and latest medicines can help a little. Preventive measures we all should be aware of.... A moving poem... Liked it with a sigh...

Glad you liked it. It is such a sad disease. The medication does slow it some, but the outcome is inevitable. My father also died from Alzheimer's a couple of years ago. He did know me until the end, which I am thankful for.
