After the Storm

Like a storm she came into my life And turned it upside down Instead of routine and mundane things We really hit the town We moved too fast, as we travelled the world To really consider the cost But before too long, while swept by her tide I started to feel quite lost Where were the things that I held so dear? When was there time to be me? Why was the giving all one way? Who am I? and who should I be? So when the source of the good times ran out She was quickly out the door Couldn’t she see I loved her so much? That I held her in such awe? I know I shouldn’t really cry These tears should not be set free But the pain is so bad, and what makes me sad Is I always thought we were we Now when I actually open my eyes The truth becomes suddenly clear It wasn’t my love or my heart she desired Her affection was never sincere Now I shall have to rebuild again A new phase of me will begin The strength I have to console myself Is the strength of my spirit within

This piece really bares the soul and puts your vulnerabilities out there for all to see. Bravo for the courage to do so. I know as I writer I am driven to do the same, so maybe courage has nothing to do with it more than the need to just express such emotions. Well done, and congratulations on being featured. Donna G.

We are all looking for that one in a life time, long lasting, real love which is very rare. Important is to possess the strength of getting out of fake relationships and to keep alive the desire of looking for your destined soulmate. He/she is out there!!! Congratulations for being featured Nigel! Love, iolanda
