After the Election

After the election, That’s assuming we survive, We must hope that some civility Will manage to revive. Whoever is the winner, It’s most likely she will strive To recover some decorum, For it’s taken quite a dive. When the vote, at last, is over Somehow most of us will thrive But I think we’ll all be missing Those debates on SN*Live! *Saturday Night Live

Hear! Hear! I've never witnessed anything so sophomoronic (my coinage)! Did you make a slip in the 2nd line of the 2nd stanza when you wrote "she"? Perhaps "they" or "he/she" would have worked? See your soup mail. Thank you for reading my take on Feet. / M

I'm with you, Irene. As soon as the campaign signs started going up on our block, the animosity began. I look forward to hearing news not related to the election. It's scarce. And I'll definitely miss the SNL satires. I'm sure they will find some comic material on the winner before the inauguration. Still, the debates are over. This is my type of poem! Thanks for giving me a smile.

thank you, carolyn! i can't remember an election as divisive as this one has been. i think snl was very important as a reminder that we can still laugh about it all. i hope we'll still be able to laugh after tomorrow...
