Aegean Night
“aegean night”
i look upon the same stars as achilles
the glory is in the doom
of all the favors granted
by graces of a rising moon,
here in the halls of tranquility
to there on the warring field
honor does not bend to glory
nor fate to ever yield,
to walk among the giants
names held by the fires
how upon the mortal heart
flames burn with such desires,
would kings fight the battles
that men have so fought
in the night's skies
the lessons are so wrought,
that the gods are understood
for am i not like them
the soul so immortal
the flesh only on lend.
