An ADD child in a classroom did sit What was going on didn't make any sense He didn't fully understand because his brain To a different drummer did refrain If he were taught a different way If good nutrition and supplements came to stay If he could go out to play Maybe he could make it through the day When will the earth be changed When will God right the wrong that's been arranged When will heaven come down to earth When will God say that's enough Just one more span Just help one more man Just reach out and touch that special one Save the world if that can be done

I really enjoyed this poem as a person who has survived societies educational methods in spite of ADD by barely adapting my own learning techniques to squeak by. Now that I'm older I have learned to embrace it and even enjoy the way my mind wanders, at least most of the time. thanks for sharing this

Eve, The ADD child now is in his second year of college. His attention deficit lingers in things like him not completing an assignment and turning it in, getting distracted in class but he is passing so far. We encouraged him to take only three classes this semester so that he could focus more on those classes which I think is going to work out much better for him. He needs to raise his grade point average up a little. Thanks for stopping by. Sara

I can relate because my daughter has ADHD and everything is a challenge for her.

Colleen, Those that have the hyperactivity along with the attention deficit have a great challenge than those who aren't plagued with it. Thanks for stopping by several years ago. Sara

aww a powerful write, my daughter has moderate learning difficulties but yet her faith is strong, she knows God loves her just the way she is and I believe he will give her the things she needs to know in time, God does reach out to these special children just his time frame is different from ours, my leanne is so strong in faith she does not trust any one but him and if any one says who is your best friend she says God every time, oh that child like faith is so real, it will remain forever
