Absolutely Everything
MY FIRST POEM!
...for Stephanie
My eyes behold her loveliness,
my fingers itch to scratch
what can't be scratched.
I cry out in quiet desperation,
just a glimpse of her face
has me begging for a taste
of her sweet mystery, her moods
of curiosity and wonder.
I can speak her mind,
taste the yearnings in her heart
and touch the essence of her soul,
yet I am not permitted in her presence,
cannot address her hopes and fears,
so I must wander lost in unrequited
love for the woman who means
absolutely everything
to me.
