Above the Clouds

How How How can I rise Above the dark clouds To expansive blue skies Escaping a world of lies Lightning flashing under my feet Dancing to a thunderous beat Rain laid beneath me Like a glass sheet Jumping higher An intergalactic flyer Gravity cannot hold New images unfold Past the moon To the stars Beyond close to what is far No limits on my mind Other dreams and worlds to find All images diamond lined Limited knowledge redefined Before I know it I am pulled back A mind under attack The string that tethers me no longer slack Journey shorter than it seemed A hoped reality only dreamed Returned to earth Beneath the clouds sometimes life is way too loud I cut the tether to rise again Above the clouds beyond the rain So I'm lifted On words that I write Free to travel On wings of light Above the Clouds Contest Written June 13, 2013

Took me on a journey with this one... above the clouds then back on the ground. I always thought it'd be really cool to have that zero gravity feel. But on certain writing binges it can come close to that feeling...
