Intriguing, Eve. Your title is "abandon hope" and yet there's a flash of hope in your last bit, sorta like a haiku. My interpretation of this photo was also kinda gloomy. Inferno is also an interesting choice of words, since the photo is about the sea.

A light house is suppose to guide ships in the night with its light of hope. The light house is not functioning so the seas for the incoming ships is hell they might crash against the rocky because they are not being guided.
