A Year Without Rain

A dark sky, a low growl, A flash of light, a haunted howl. A chilling wind, an insidious fear, From the dark falls heaven's cold tears. A love sleeping dormant inside, A heart that waited, a heart that cried. A blood moon, hidden by the dark, A fall of life, for a land so stark. A year without rain, a land cursed, A spell broken, a quenched thirst.

While I think this was more "Rhyme" than "Free Verse", this was still very potent in its message. Many prefer & admire the sun. But, we do need the rain for sheer life balance of the heart. Excellent writing!
