A Wintry December Day

December has come round at last, Bringing with it a wintry blast 'tis the time folks gather together, Round a yule log fire to hide the weather. The sky all day is gun metal grey, Storms, never far away, Warm and cosy as I look out, Staying in today, no doubt. Thinking of family so far away, Wishing they could come to stay. Love never diminishes over the miles, It lives in our hearts, it raises our smiles. Try not to be alone at this time of year, Wrap yourself up with folk of good cheer. Laughter brings joy, if it is sincere, On Christmas Day our Lord will be here. © Dave Timperley December 1st 2014
