A Visitor From Outer Space
A Visitor From Outer Space
By Elton Camp
Many of his brothers have come before
We can expect him and then many more
In some alien form he won’t appear
Maybe we’ll see him ere he draws near
If so, we hope that we’ll have a way
We can effectively hold him at bay
If the visitor happens to be small size
It will be he who gets a nasty surprise
Automatic destruction will be his fate
In mere seconds, he will disintegrate
But if gigantic he happens to be
In the greatest danger will be we
With a stream of fire and loud roar
He brings destruction we’ll abhor
A populous city he can devastate
Or create a tsunami that we’ll hate
Will such a visitor truly menace men?
It’s not a matter of “if,” but “when”
