A True Politician
A TRUE POLITICIAN
By
JOHN M. ARRIBAS
Ran into a old friend the other day
He seemed despondent looked rather gray
How’s the family, I did inquire
Not good, there’s a lot that I desire
What’s up you seem so depressed
You’re right my son is possessed
Why would you say such a serious indictment
Deceit and ruses are his type of excitement
What are you saying, is he a thief
If only that, I’d have relief
He cheats on his wife without end
Hundreds of dollars he’s had to spend
On payoffs and bribes so no paper trail
That’s the only reason he’s not in jail
A graduate lawyer that’s never been busted
For dipping into the funds to him entrusted
Its cost me thousands to preserve his name
He has no scruples, morals or shame
I know he’s embezzled, but never caught
Blackmailed his partner, all for naught
Owes lots of money he’ll never repay
Afraid I’ll find him slain someday
He lies and cheats he’s a total disgrace
Do not trust him, he’ll lie to your face
There isn’t a good bone in his body
Everything he does is either sinful or shoddy
What does the future have in store for him
What good can come from a knave full of sin
Any suggestions for this son of mine?
Yes I do, he’s been wasting his time
I know of an area where his talents will shine
He’ll rise in prominence his name sublime
Those resources are required for a new mission
He’s going to be a great politician
