A Supreme Dream
We live in a Supreme Dream
Higher than any cloud, it holds more weight
Like the queen’s supper on a gold-rimmed plate
A Supreme Dream
Thin shards of glass, adorned the throne
A still image of royalty imprisoned.
A Supreme Dream
Of cream chiffon dresses, diamantes and sequins
Ribbons unravel, threads begin to rip, sequins slip
This Supreme Dream
Glossy manes and Primark clothing
Built upon lotions, creams, fashionable copying
Each hair breaks and splits, her outfit becomes old and weary
This Supreme Dream
Dominates the power of reality, dresses up for the morning sun
A Dream so Supreme
We all envisage it, deface and demolish it
So supreme we become breathless, that individuality is forgotten.
Together we stop and move back
Sleeping beauties
Of this Supreme Dream.
