A Season's Dance

Spring rain dances in puddles
and runs in the streets,
then pitters and patters
like a babes tiny feet.
The prelude to summer
with its flash and its clash
as the thunder of heaven
on window sills splash.
Then the soft shoe of autumn
very gently sashays -
like a brush on a snare drum
that quietly plays.
Then the cold waves of winter
come crash to the shore
as the dance of the seasons
gives its final encore.
