A River Runs Through

As a young boy steps out to the rivers edge Gracefully casting his line to catch his prey Setting out into the still darkened sky And wading in the calming flow of nature itself Listening to the wind tell you it's stories Of life's greatest wonders and what it knows Never really changing with each passing day Where the world is alive in all our hearts The young boy now growing older steps into the sun Meeting new challenges when the sky is on high Wishing to be the man he was meant to be While waiting by the rivers edge as the sun goes down Thinking of what stories nature can tell Of how many ages ago it all began Changes throughout time that makes it worth while It's beauty that makes us wonder why we are here A river runs through the center of life As the seasons change so do our minds As an old man steps out to the rivers edge He remembers his days as a young little boy Originally written in 1996

A well-ordered write, and an interesting read.

Lovely verse Shannon. I was picturing this little boy ageing as his years progressed. Nicely written if I may say so....:)
