A Place To Lay My Head

Oh for a place to lay my weary head To seek a haven from the stormy strife With certainty to give my love and life And know that I’m adored on sacred bed Oh for a place to lay my body down To disrobe of the doubts and naked lie In opulence of love to gratify And have true kisses for my head a crown Oh for a place where doubt dare not appear Where I can be the one and only dream Where passion’s not a trickle but a stream Where arms of love hold all that heart holds dear I’m wearied from my search for blissful rest My armor weights me down, my fears assail From rended heart breaks forth lamenter’s wail The hope of love from me the world did wrest Give me a place upon your chest to sleep Ensure me that your love will steadfast be Vouch safe to me your ardent constancy Then with your lips set seal and promise keep Eileen Manassian

Few poets that I read, are able to write about love in the way that you seem to do so effortlessly, Eileen. Wonderful as always

Hello Eileen, where are those new ones you promised?? I feel like a baby bird waiting for his mom to come back to the nest with a morsel.

I posted two yesterday and deleted them due to some issues. :( Sorry about that. I hope I can get one out soon. Your post is very sweet, indeed. It will help get me going.

Your head, battle heavy and teary with victory's price, lay perfect and protected on my chest happy in your safety...this poem is very beautiful in it's honest need for love undoubted Eileen...J.A.B.

By the way...it is lovely to have Eileen Manassian back; Jade and I never really had the chance to get to know each other!

Oh....You did get to know her a little. She did visit you. Sometimes, Paul...sometimes...it's good to be someone else for a while....

Do not be hard on yourself Eileen; you are capable of giving and receiving bountiful love and passion, not just a trickle. A while back I met the all conquering gladiator, capable of harnessing doubt; let that same strength prevail over trivial weaknesses. (Once again you make reference to Life and Love!). hugs // paul

Oh....the trickle wasn't a reference to ME, Paul....I'm never halfway, my dear. NOT when it comes to passion. I am a giver....I get more joy in fulfilling than in fulfillment...almost! ;) thanks for the visit...But you know Appassionata is a complex creature. I hope that is part of the allure. For me there is no life without love....Profoundly true....and sadly true...I sense of self worth is bound in this. I read your Medusa write. That was fantastic...and quite a longer piece. I'm glad you let yourself go at times. Hugs

Kenny....I'm feeling better. Went through a tough patch back there. Couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Glad you are back to visit me. Don't you look smart and dapper in your profile pic. Give Cathie my hugs....save one for you! ;)
