A Pilot's Prayer
Lord as we prepare for these wings to lift us into the air
we pray that you will lift our hearts on
the wings of your spirit.
Lord give us the wisdom to trust in you
for our safe return to our homes and families.
Lord grant us the courage as well as
the strength of mind and body
to carry out the task that has been laid before us.
Lord as we travel head long into harms way to aid
in the defense of our nation;
a nation you chose to bless with freedom and prosperity.
We pray for clear skies, clean air and a journey free from incident.
And so Lord God
as we commit ourselves to the mission at hand
we also pray for peace.
Peace in our hearts, peace in our souls and peace in our time.
Lord please give comfort to our families while we are away;
and give comfort to the families of those who paid the ultimate price.
Let them find solace in the loving embrace of your son Jesus.
It is in his name we pray. AMEN!
