A New Dawn
When I am physically weak,
And have a lot of pain,
Feeling so worn out and sick,
And under a lot of strain;
Oh! I need a strong shoulder
To lean on and bury my tears,
To comfort and make me bolder,
And wipe away all my fears.
When I'm tired and oh so weary,
With troubles to bend my back,
When life seems so very dreary,
And courage I do lack;
Oh! I need strong loving hands
To unburden me gently,
To lead me across this desert's sands,
And to refresh me mentally.
When I'm all set and prepared to die,
To go across death's dark vale,
Ready to rest, to peacefully lie,
And put an end to my painful tale;
Oh! What joy and peace to see
My loving Shepherd, with arms open wide,
Watching and waiting just for me,
To take me to His nail-pierced side.
Oh! My Saviour! How great to be
Carried on His shoulders strong,
With His loving hands enfolding me,
As I sing along a brand new song.
With renewed strength and refreshed hope,
I wait on Him, as life goes on,
With troubles and tears, now I'm able to cope,
As I look forward to that new dawn.
