a kite flies high carried by the wind - - the string snaps for Gwendolen's contest I'm not sure if this is a good haiku, LOL, but Deb G has helped me enormously

Jack..you really wrote of a powerful "kite moment" in this winning haiku..Yours was the only haiku entered and it really caught my eye...The other judges enjoyed it as well..... Congrats, friend. Gwendolen

Very vivid images here, Jack! Really enjoyed this! And I read your comments, I will make sure to remind you next year- we can still go beyond Earth hour and do our own part like using less plastic bags, planting trees, etc :) I hope your hand is doing better-- I read your blog and I suppose the bandages are gone by now :) Will continue praying for your hand! :D

I LOVE this modern haiku, Jack! Those blasted strings always snapped when I tried flying a kite. Then you'd look at the trees above and see a kite cemetery. LOL Best wishes in Gwen's contest! Love, Carolyn
