A Hopeless Cause
A foreign feeling fuels fear,
gnawing at the heart of the beast.
And love's exquisite, searing flame
is painfully consuming him.
Love has infected his being,
boring a hole into his heart.
Yet, cringing on the fringe of dark,
evil contorts his blackened soul.
Captivated by her beauty,
he squirms, writhing in agony.
And seeks hope in a hopeless cause,
craving her, despite all his flaws.
Reaching within, he grabs his heart
and rips it out; to ease his hurt.
Smitten by love, he lies bereft,
for the pangs of passion persist.
