For Madison Demetros' The Perfect Day Poetry Contest
*I ended up writing 7 poems that day. It WAS the perfect day for me!

The perfect day for poetry, and thoughts that were inside of me - were thoughts that I could not confine. They flowed from me, a heady wine, releasing me from atrophy. . . I wonder if astrology came into play, some remedy to let my muse come forth and shine. The perfect day! I started writing frantically: I wrote in rhyme, but mostly free. What catalyst, what strange design brought Lady Luck and made her mine? One poem, one more, then more than three. . . The perfect day!

I seem to have a poetic surge just before something bad happens - has happened twice - the day before dad was diagnosed with cancer and then 2 days before he died - but just being to write poetry - sure has brought golden moments into my life! Hugs Jan x congrats on your win:-) xx

This has happened with me on occasion, Andrea.....and then there will be days on end with nothing at all. I do believe there is an energy that comes from somewhere out there that envelops one, for whatever reason...to be inspired or.....not! Great poem!! Congrats!!

When the muse calls you had better answer - as you did. Deltiology is the field of postcard study - just like numismatics is of coins. Postcard shows are just what they sound like - dealers come with cards arranged by area and topic and people buy and trade for them. I am sure they have some near where you live. I have written and gotten paid for quite a number deltiology publications. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

A day in the life of a poetic wife. Can make a man glad he's alive. She's busy with pen. So he's not pecked by his hen. I tell you this true, that's no jive. :) Just rhyming. Nothing genderly personal.
