A Cats Life
Tiny face peeking thru her mother’s arms,
Eyes unopened but seeking her warmth.
A perfect replica of a larger version,
Button nose, whiskered face,
She nestles in for a cozy nap,
Knowing that food is not far away.
Soon she will grow and someday soon,
Trade her mother’s arms for a human lap,
Bringing joy and love in another’s arms.
Seeking out toys to bat about,
Making a mess of both house and home,
Giving both pleasure and pain.
Would you have it any other way?
