The Quest

On the crest of a wave On the threshold of a dream On the edge of reality And fantasy it seems On the outskirts of the universe At the bottom of the sea I search for someone And I found me Upon a billowing cloud top Or on the rainbows edge The branch of a redwood Or the leaf on a hedge Deep inside the shadows of a lunar eclipse At the very end of my own fingertips I search out with vision And then I lose sight Looking for meaning in the darkness of night It seems that life’s illusion s Clouded thoughts and dreams Are not quite what we thought they would be They are seldom what they seem Looking on the inside, searching all around Emotions and notions they seem to confound With my eyes wide open and my mind at play Will I find what I am looking for ? will I find it all to day? In my daily quest, will I like what I see Or simply let my mind wander To fulfill some fantasy Grasping for reality feeling its bite Guiding me though my day Filling my appetite for life As the sun is slowly sinking And setting in the west I imagine myself leaping from star to star connecting the dots at rest My imagination takes me away To the lightness of my dreams A long sojourn into the night Dancing on silvery moonbeams And when this night is over I will awaken with a smile With the start of a new day With hope and grace and style
