Older and Wiser
With muscle and sinew we fight and rage
To stay the creature that steals youth so fast
And beat the long winded culprit of age
Paying to look as we did in the past
Armed with knife, dye and gym we wage our war,
Hair club come forward and be heard from too.
Where is the pill of youth for evermore?
To be young again, firm with pounds so few.
Why can we not find splendor in old age?
Its grace and dignity are gems to get.
There is no greater fire than of a sage,
Whose life’s had ins and outs with no regrets.
Each day they say we’re learning something new.
Just think how wise we’ll be at ninety-two.
