-heroes-

Brisbane Sonnet Heroes The heroes I've seen always tell the same extravagant lie; A dashing smile, handsome looks, strength superior to anything. It seems as though these heroes have nothing to worry about. But it's all simply a stereotype, sometimes the heroes say goodbye, Some of them hold too much on their shoulders, a bell without a ring. The true heroes must blend in with humanity while carrying doubt. Worrying that their families will turn away and see them as the bad guy, Worrying that they will no longer be under sanity's left wing. Worrying that their pasts will catch up and leave them to scream and shout. These heroes come home and are left to ask the same question, "Why?" Why has this "free" country they fought for left them dangling on a string? Why have the people they once loved in this country simply kicked them out? The heroes that I've seen always tell the same extravagant lie, For its the strongest people that will fall and cry.
