September moon

I met her on a mountain;
On a day that seemed serene;
She spun a thread of silky yarn;
Then wrapped me in a dream.

We lusted like two sailors;
Drinking our last slug;
Then tossed our message out to sea;
corked in side the jug.

We sang each other chanting’s
About never going away
But I was always looking back;
It was me that wouldn’t stay.

I’ve tried not to remember
Tried to lock it in a room;
But always in September;
Her face is in the moon.

    Chris; Thanks for the great comments and as far as whats going on I suspect things are more like a moon dance where -in popularity or fishing lures takes president over choices, but what do I know I guess.

    This is great stuff, Leonard. I have gone through a bunch of your poems....didn't comment on a few, ONLY because I was trying to get a taste of variety. Now, why doesn't a poem like this get more views and comments? People will post a crappy written haiku(I actually like haiku lol), and they end up with like 500 views and freakin' 78 comments. Wot's going on here?
