My Farewell

If I forget you, would you remember me? If I still love you, would you still love me? If I fall when old, would you lift me up? If I sleep, would you sleep by me? If I run away, would you follow me? But If I stay, would you stay with me? If I see you, would you recognize me? I know you would Not. That is why, I wish I would whisper And not hear myself. I wish I could cry not feel my tears nor feel my fears. Tonight, my final Farewell. Therese Bacha 24 August 2014

"I know you will not" is a sledgehammer blow after the almost soporific effect of the rhetorical questioning of the first eight lines. Thinking...the more seasoned among us can easily relate to your piece. (I'm sorry, I cannot accept 'write', as in "a good write", where 'write' is used as a noun. A totally personal thing; no offence intended).

and, anyway, what is a poem? to me, it is a gift from the heart and soul. It's hard to define and there's quite a bit of intellectual snobbery associated with it; of which I am somewhat guilty, given my former profession, but these days I'm thinking why should it be the preserve of the intellectuals- it's like painting- we all feel so inadequate after viewing works of the masters. Go for it!

more...Nah! really, I love all the new technology. Otherwise, we wouldn't be exchanging views. Perhaps change 'can' to 'could' in 5th last line, to match rest of expression. Still think it's got a punch to it!@

Oh, I meant no offence to the PS-ers who refer to poems as 'writes' - just not part of my vocabulary, but that's just an 'old-world' cultural bias. I prefer to call them 'works' or perhaps 'pieces'. But never mind me. Bit of a dinosaur in these days of text-versation and other kinds of linguistic abominations!

deep write, having thought provoking questions and than concluding that "hey, i cant see this through" is tough but sometimes we know when it's time to say goodbye than it is time because our hearts never lie and once said don't ever second guess yourself always go with your first instinct,..~always & forever~PD
