Misjudged

Standing still head's up
Retrospect greatest pitfalls
Mass consciousness whim.

Wandering till dawn
Waiting brave for the result
Less breathe heartless beat.

Until the mind soar
Now is  inexplicable
Sufferings indeed.

People grim anew
For the best of all Juries
Render canny nod.

A Meaningful Vacation

I was alone and quite
Retrospect  while in solace
Now come back mighty

Anyone search sparks
Through me and Within themselves
Gratefulness abide

Realization draws
People around me anew
Things changed as I am.

A King and His Beauty

A King and His Beauty

the audience stares
King Kong shakes shackles, breaks free…
     chaos, people running away

Kong’s mistress in crowd
once free, he cannot find her…
     crowd is in frenzy

the beauty nears Kong
he picks her up in his palm…
    Empire building scaled

planes appear in sky
protecting Beauty, he fights…
    even beasts can love

Kong falls to his death
Beauty lives to love again…
     Irony defies

CITY HAIKUS

This garden city
Concrete skyscrapers loom;
Greenery punctuate

Tree-lined avenues
Bourgainvillea clusters;
Traffic jam companions

Waltzing slowly
Overhead bridge;
Ant-people below

Old neighbourhood
Heartland community;
Ageing populace

Feeble old lady
Speeds on wheels;
Electric commotion

Playground
For small kids and big;
Noisy charades

Fitness park
For young and old;
Fighting spirit

City side walk cafe
Crowded after hours;
Beery happy hours

Noticeable absence
Dry spell ending;
Sudden torrential rain

Umbrellas raised,
Parasols  hoisted;
Too late this drenching

Side walk cobbler
New lease for old shoes;
Assorted wears

Hyper art queue
Long-winded delay;
Fussy customer

Bank ATM await
Ready to dispense;
Urgent pocket money

Office podium
By shopping mall;
Buzz of human traffic

Downtown hype
Temptations galore;
Mostly unnecessary

Of a Peaceful Ferry Ride to Staten Island

          As the engines grate.
People read- exclusively.
                    Peace at last- onboard!

They Have Woven a Net Around Us

 A feeling of nearness to suffering
In our hearts
While we reduce the dimensions
Of the essence of light
With our eyes
In a local scuffle
Them
They have woven a net around us.
Bearing the pains of life
While watching the people with sullen faces
And tired thoughts
All along the years
We have heard the whistle of whips...
With well-concealed thoughts
Those
Never thought of us
And... without any mercy
Have woven a net around us.

Twisted Goose Goes Cuckoo for Haiku

For P.D's "Going Haiku Crazy" Contest

How Many?

going to St. Ives
met folks on that smelly bus
more than I could count

Just Sleep Walking?

Wee Willy Winky
caught outside a boy’s window
in a night garment

Got Wool?

naked in the lane
three bags-full of wool sheared off
baa baa black sheep fleeced

She Didn’t Know What to Do!

Kids’ cries from inside -
outside an old woman’s shoe
child welfare people

Clean Your Plate!

Licking their plates clean
Jack Sprat and wife do their part. . .
kids starve in China

The Treacherous Hill

pail of spilled water
Jill’s body sprawled over Jack’s
one big bloody mess

What a Ding Dong

good deed for the day
boy scout Tommy Stout by well. . .
scratches on his arm

Not Even a Bone

old Mother Hubbard
Social Security cut
dog needs a new home

Yellow Georgie

victims of Porgie
confront him in the playground
his true color shows

The Original Blonde

Bo peep loses sheep
birth of a new tradition. . .
blonde jokes being told

The Schemer

some spilled curds and whey
spider near a fallen chair
supping happily

Making the Best. . .

Humpty takes a spill
the whole army can’t fix him
omelets for lunch

Baby Catches On

the church and steeple
and now you show me people?
those are just fingers!

They Say He Couldn’t Keep Her!

gossip in the town
pumpkin shell big as a house. .
where is Peter’s wife?

Bye, Hushed Baby

the sound of wind’s rush
baby’s cries abruptly hushed
broken branch on ground

*I'm choosing this series of haiku for several reasons.
First, it's the only post I made named "Twisted" so it
is an obvious choice. Second, I do have other poems
I consider a bit twisted, but, I simply cannot
remember the titles of some of these really old poems
to look for them. Finally, this series was inspired by
a long ago contest of PD's in which I got the idea
to take nursery rhymes and twist them, and so
I'm reviving this series which can no longer be
viewed by anybody here unless it's in a contest!

Situation Haiku

the tsunami struck
with the entire world watching
the judgement of God

the radiation
that they always knew was there
silently rages

it's time for prayer
for the people over there
humble one's self

it's time for hero's
knowing they will not live
yet they bravely give

the sacrifice's
ordinary men will make
will save their nation

Search not happiness, let it come itself

Enjoyed life fullest
Happiness not gained but earned
Muse on, no regrets.

Felt God’s bounty
Seen lands, countries and cultures
Received love from people
Whom I loved and who loved me
Happy with kids and grandkids.

Took life as it is
Not expected things yet got
All good things of life.
