The Shell

sea's sound in the breeze captured in a pretty shell. . . . nature's gift to me lying on my bed holding music to my ear. . . . I drift out to sea

3 Haiku

In January 2007 the fishing trawler, 'Pere Charles'was lost off Dunmore East. Co Waterford,
Ireland, with the loss of five fishermen. I knew four of them, two very well.

                                         Pere Charles

                                   Soft water all quiet
                           Bubbles of air take last breath
                               Five souls bid goodbye

                                       Flowing Music

                                   White water tinkling
                                Exudes musical moments
                                  Hear a perfect peace

                                           Soft Power

                                      Soft flowing water
                               Creates valley and canyon
                                      Kisses ocean, free

One by one
They come and go;
Bus-stop blues

On the way out,
Smile as you go;
Embrace forgetfulness

Surge of passion
No need to feel;
Go with the flow

Bedtime stories
We swop tales;
Laugh stomach cramps

Basketball court,
Two sides stalking;
Win-win losing

Cable TV
So much to see;
Time fritters away

Hypermart queue
Long as usual;
Impatient sighs

I see you,
You see me;
No need to talk

Roadside beggar
Asks politely:
Please help me

Alleyway music
Lone troubadour;
Straining guitar chords

By and by,
How and when;
Nobody stops

Inspired by Brian Strand's contest Pastoral poem

Branches rise in praise
Wind as music floats to heaven
Birds sing praises, joy

four haikus

one with the music
a vestibule for magic
love fills warm the air
bonsai beautiful
with white scented blossoms grow
though old still virile
gold red swirls and curves
 the frozen flames light the night
save me brave fireheart
scampers a bright moon
gifts liquid life a lit view
watch them rendezvous

___hello kitty___

pretty and stylish
clean sassy paw print shower
purr-fect flower smell

__sea of stupidity___

life without reason
beauty vanished common sense
follow the leader

___city dreams___

low rise grey sunrise
dusty wind music terror
crystal clear sunset.

___brain storming___

business in the sky
thirst engraved in my sand wall
wishing well compel

___live bait___

catch me if you can
deep under salty water
aquatic spew smell

___turtle wax___

twisted fresh smell
beautiful shine in the sun
clear crystal rain X

___lonely and apart___

an empty kettle
fall like a flower petal
wet window ledge

___ Margarita Time__

stainless creation
blizzard form from tornado
cold temptations

___ withdrawals ___

clouds hide down below
my heart, my body, my soul
a certain form lost

   “ “ “ “ “ “ “ “ “ “ “ “

       music grooves wild spell
hip hop rock thumping acid heat---
                    wind’s fingers click sleek

       rhapsody in jazz
jiggling scents of post-war blues---
                    wildflowers dizzy

       while hand-carved flutes stroll
notes from a classic forest---
                    upturned grass listens
      oh ballads moan soft
lyrics aching for lost love---
                    navel  of snake writhes

                                 *  *
       of best, church choirs pray
chanting angelic blessings---
                    white dove’s breath is touched!
