Captivated By His Words
Captivated By His Words By: E. C. Almonte (Apples&Eve) A strong couple once molded cannot be separated. The world we live in is beautiful. It’s we who create these deceitful ways. The four layers of bright light beamed down depicted the gates of heaven, As I hung my hair out the window of his white pickup truck. The sun’s keen rays brightened to wake up as it did the morning before. Mother Nature at her finest with her nursery of floating palm trees. He filled with anger quickly like a train slightly derailing As the sparks of the copper railings entered his eyes. His innocence stood out to me more than the obvious. I sat attentively eyes wide and ears engaged to his lips like a bride to her groom. He went on to say to survive this world, you’re better paired in two’s. His story telling kept my curiosity wild like a feline strolling on a dessert afternoon. September 17, 2015
