Cry not because of what you see But because you’ll know what it’s like to be me My life was not as bad as it seemed, But it was slowly coming apart at the seams. Day by day, year by year All my thoughts I began to fear. I began to wonder why things happened or why I could never force a smile I started to see things different from others I guess that’s just the way I was wired. I saw the beauty in death And became fascinated in taking ones last breath I knew I just didn't want to live any more Why oh why am I still here for. People think these thoughts have left But there just foolish, I know best. These thoughts will plague me till the day I die One day I know I will fly. Fly far beyond the woods and trees Far beyond the seven seas, I’ll fly to the place far far away. In this place I know I can stay. They’ll be happiness and laughter everyday I’ll live my life in every way Dreams will come true this much is true Oh how I wish I could get through. They’ll be some down on earth I will miss, But I’ll make sure they all get a good bye kiss. For I cannot tell them where I roam I just want them to know I am finally home They’ll find my note, along with my body I just hope the job wasn't to shoddy. I never meant to leave this way But it was my mind that wouldn't let me stay. You see the thing is I am mentally ill A fact that truly haunts me still I cannot decide whether to smile or shudder It’s my mind you see , it has the power. The power to decide how I live my life The power to decide if I live or die. So I’ll sit here and ill cry I have to let the power decide.
