God Watches Over Us
God Watches Over Us On the nest sits a bird too afraid to fly. Beautiful wings could help it soar, but the pain of past failures make the lonesome cry. God said to this bird, "Trust” and have “Faith” in Me, for I will carry you into the Blue and Clouds. The miracle of flight is waiting just for you to see." The bird replied, "But God I can't fly as I am weak. I will fall as It's happened before when I tried to fly. I'm afraid of being hurt again. God's voice is soft and reassuring, God said to the bird, I created you, I will protect you, your lonesome cry I have heard. Have faith in Me and you will fly high in the sky. So, up little bird, spread your wings and fly like an eagle. With the wings I lovingly created for you to fly. If you fall I'll pick you up, lift you back into the sky." Yes with trembling legs, unsure wings the bird finally looked to the sky. It took a deep breath, took a chance, as the bird began to fly. Found himself way up in the blue sky as told by God. "So thank you, God, for believing in me. Thank you for giving me wings. Thank you for your protecting hands. Your glory I will now sing." By Rev. Samuel Mack, OMS DD Copyright 2015
