God Gave Us Jesus
Jesus didn't remain at the manger scene, Nor was time drawn out on the cross. His stay wasn't long in a borrowed tomb, But our earthly gain became Heaven's loss. So this year don't search for the manger, Hoping by chance, there, Jesus will be. Don't seek Him in Gethsemane's garden, For there again, Jesus, you'll not see. Don't search at length Golgotha's hill, Where naught will be found but an empty tree. Nor search 'mongst the cliff side tombs, For in three days He was risen by decree. Don't seek for Jesus in the upper room, "He is risen" will be the acknowledged clue. If you yet desire not to end your search, There's still something you might do. If looking "neath your Christmas tree, Among gifts, both decorous and fair. Your search will end in disappointment, For again, Jesus is not found there. If exhausted, in prayer, you should inquire, Just where your searching should start. God will reveal to you His dwelling place, And that Jesus will enter a contrite heart. So if you're deficient in joy this Christmas, And spirit no longer what once has been. Search not, here and there, for Jesus, But open your heart and He'll move in. "What gift could you give, or get, this Christmas Season That would compare to Jesus"?
