Will You Think of Me Once In a While
Will you think of me once in a while, When the tears from your eyelids are trailing, When they bury me after the trial. Will you think of me oft with that smile; When obstructions in life you are scaling, Will you think of me once in a while When you pass by the rose garden dial, Would you think of my love as unfailing, When they bury me after the trial. Although distant by many a mile, Would you treasure this letter I'm mailing; Will you think of me once in a while. Bitter thoughts grip my insides like bile, But I reckon I'll no more be ailing When they bury me after the trial. I'll not be there to see you in style; Please forgive me, my daughter, for failing. Will you think of me once in a while, When they bury me after the trial. (Written on March 25th, 2014 for the contest "Rhyme Battle: Round 4")
