The Invitation
If you had just married a wife Then were invited to The Banquet The greatest wedding feast ever to be told Would you say that you can't go Or accept the royal invitation And take with you The one you now have to hold Our Heavenly Father requests the honor Of your presence at the marriage of His Son To the Bride arrayed in righteousness; blessed are those invited The wedding banquet is ready; will you come? (Chorus) If you had just purchased land Then received The Wedding Invitation From the King to His palace of gold Would you go look to His interests Or ask to be excused To see the field In which you had been sold If you had just gained merchandise And were invited to The Dinner To sit with the righteous and the bold Would you refuse the King's table Or hurry first at His request Then let your business Multiply one hundred fold (Chorus) [Bridge] If you give your regrets or do not respond You will not receive the garments of fine linen You will not taste His banquet like the many who are called Only to the Few will the place of honor be given And His house shall be filled when they are compelled From the highways and byways and even from the hedges From the streets and alleys they're accepted and chosen For wedding garments and to eat the Bread of Heaven
