Buried Treasure
Dormant beneath a surface that lies; Hidden to none, except your own eyes. The mirror shows it everyday; A gemstone in Heaven, God’s moulded clay. A smile, stained by sundrops of gold; Eyes are the windows of a soul not too old. Lines upon cheeks for each story heard or told; And a manner that stands and screams: “I am bold”. Unfold your tears for not seeing the truth; Beauty’s not age, and beauty’s not youth. A light is agleam inside all that you see; A light is agleam inside you, and in me. Do not negate your unique design; Whether you’re small, or have curves that intertwine. Thin as a rake; Or muscles that are fake; A bubble-wrapped face; Or a porcelain grace. Acknowledge the diamond that is your soul; And the colours that lash out beyond your control. See the landscapes inside your heart; And acknowledge your body, it’s make-up, each part. When searching for treasure, He found a tribe at peace; “Where is the gold?”, he asked the King’s niece; She lead him to a cove that was partly concealed; And beside a pool of water, she gently kneeled…
