The Last Shall Be First
It’s funny how my frenemies Sent to me Pushed me into my destiny. Years spend yearning for their approval All for God to do his removal They were cowards and fakes Scorpions and snakes But, now, I am wide awake And, can see all they tried to take You can’t curse what God has blessed I’ve stayed strong through all my tests There’s a path that leads to life Where there is no more pain and strife Don’t you know he laughs on high? As the time sways quickly by Don’t you know that he’s not done? And all will perish if he is not number one My Fears have faded to gray Now that I follow in his ways Doubt has been ruled out Now that I know what he’s all about It’s amazing what the wicked will do Spit lies and ridicule But, I know an incredible peace That’s not found in the presence of a beast I am no better than you I just obey who is true An orphan can say they won When they surrender their life to the son.
