Green Grass
May the greenest grass grow Where thy body must lay For u call it a tomb I call it paradise I go back from which I came Eternal sleep Withered away Not all is lost But everything is gained The cold damp nights Drenched with rain All my problems I once possessed No longer remain I am at peace No more pain No more suffering Its all faded away Gone with the old In with the new Hopefully some of my wisdom Carried through To be used to guide And for others to stay true I am with my ancestors The ones of old To be reunited with my people As I watch the new from afar Play about and grow old They to will be reunited with me As I was with the old They tell me of stories how things once was They speak of beauty How plentiful the land once was And how things went wrong How they died protecting their land Before it was destroyed by the hand of man Now they watch as man destroys themselves They of the old don’t understand Wiping out their heritage it will never end They fought so hard to protect their rights Now they watch as we begin to wage wars upon our selves And destroy their heritage by our own hand All of this is seen through the age of time Listen to the wind as it hits your eyes The tears that are produced are not from the breeze But from the words of the old as they watch and weep Look around what do you see Open up let your heart be free Listen with your ears not but with thy heart Reach out with all your love And Listen to the breeze as it flows through the trees It speaks of wisdom And how to be free By Joshua Lloyd
