My Hearts Voice
Efforts become fruitless when there is nothing to bear Voices losses expression when they cannot be heard Laughter is a burden when it can’t be shared Joy disappears when it refuses to spread Nothing seems to count much without others The joys of life are gotten from our hearts reaching out Without which everything seems to dry out A loud emptiness which cannot be smothered But something is worse than not being able to care That is when it all seems to bring forth pain Pain that leaves you with a sense of despair Springing up and staring you at the face Then everything turns out so sour Every action is now weighed on a sliding scale Every smile now produces a frown So unbearable, all you feel is a stabbing pain So clueless of how to get out of this night Especially when the feedback is it serves you right But my heart still wants to play its blissful tune And hopes this time you don’t get out of tune
