Petals and Hymn
Sometimes it looks so grim. The feeling of gloom on a foggy afternoon. It tastes of petals and hymn. With a shred of courage on a cloudy moonlit night. The changing of the seasons, Embody the essence of a frightened little child. The winter solstice, Is quite symbolic of a cold shoulder, To rest your head upon in the dark of the night. The stars gaze upon the sky, Striking back like a thunderous roar. Screeching at each other in a haze of glory. In that moment, The world grows silent, As if a hurricane came through the cities, Leaving a trail of destruction behind. The red giant is the name given, As the star dies and expands, Engulfing all things in fire so hot, Everything we know melts and molds itself, Into a reminder of what we once were. We are all dead. A species not meant to survive. The differences we face have no meaning. We have one thing in common, That's our DNA. We share the same common ancestor. We have the same atoms, molecules, etc. It is time we give up our delusions, And start making our world a better place, For our species to live on.
