Dancing On a Point
Dancing on the point of a needle again Trying to forget her pain Liquide dreams flowing through her veins Painting pretty pictures on her brain Trying to forget her pain As she sways to music only she can hear Painting pretty pictures on her brain Her little prick of happy turns to fear As she sways to music only she can hear It changes to a somber note Her little prick of happy turns to fear She feels dark fingers around her throat It changes to a somber note This is now a fight for her life She Feels dark fingers around her throat She reaches for an imaginary knife This is now a fight for her life No longer knowing what is real She reaches for an imaginary knife An empty space is all she can feel No longer knowing what is real From the edge she finally steps back An empty space is all she can feel Her mind no longer under attack From the edge she finally steps back She returns to her sad reality Her mind no longer under attack Yet she is still in need of being set free She returns to her sad reality Liquide dreams flowing through her veins Yet she is still in need of being set free Dancing on the point of a needle again Inspired by Cherie Thomas Read her poem "A piece of Foil" Modified Pantoum incorporating Rhyme
