Bright and Elegant
Bright And Elegant (Domino Rhyme) Watching the rising morning sun With heaven feeling very close The beauty of spring does unfold Beautiful everything grows Joyful whispering nature knows The fragrant air is fresh and clean Nature spreading beauty and cheer And spring has taken a strong hold All the song birds entered the scene The tulips burst forth bright and bold Wild roses bearing elegant blooms With vibrant splendor far and near At last gone is the winters cold All the spring planting has been done Now pleasantly warm the wind blows All of spring colors are displayed Domino Rhyme A poem in domino rhyme is written in four-line stanzas, within which there are no rhymes at all. However, every line rhymes with a line in another stanza. Specifically, lines 2 and 3 of each stanza rhyme with lines 1 and 4 respectively of the next stanza. The final stanza completes the loop, its lines 2 and 3 rhyming with lines 1 and 4 of the first stanza. Example poem was written in 8 syllables per line. Rhyme scheme is a, b, c, d; b, e, f, c; e, g, h, f; last stanza…see above ………….
