Smiling Monster
SMILING MONSTER The earth shakes; rivers are drying, air whispering tears; Trees are afraid of standing outside, as warplanes hovering. Dead bodies of humans has become sand everywhere, You kill them; you adopt their children; you advertised innocent children on medias Calling for money donations, children are crying; women are in sorrow. Little children are crying; stop using us to beg for donations, you made us homeless and parentless What a world of monsters! Caused by greed. Little children cries on the streets and camps seized sleep out of my eyes, Going to my comfort bed has become sorrowful, when I see millions without bed to sleep on, no food to eat but feeding on flies has become daily diets. You tear apart our lives; when we didn’t prepared for it. You are happy; using us to beg for donation and aid; to show charity and love, which you can’t offer. Our swelling stomachs, faces, and legs are malnutrition inflicted on us by you Monsters! Monsters!! Monsters!!! Is what you are. Little children are crying, crying, crying…..; wanting their voice to be heard. You stand in front of your co-taskmasters and those alive but not living; Promising comforts and cares; Which you offered in disguise. When wars and killings you planned have not stop, missiles are dropping at our backyards. Lies hovered on your lips each time you promise peace. In fears, and in uncertainty, we sleep on dried leaves openly as animals; Yes! Animals. Your bombing smoked us out of homes into camps Where you capture us for second slavery. Which death will I prefer? Death of chemical weapons, or death of fearful bullets; Or death of starvation, or death of homelessness or death of joblessness? I am afraid of the death of slavery imposed on me. Oh God come and fight for weaponless souls, Send your arms of justices quickly, else your beautiful earth will be void Of your image. -By Pastor Omojevwe Emmanuel
