January's Thaw
I was cold, callous, sometimes mean. Keeping my feelings unseen in the deep freeze of winter. This shield of ice no one could splinter. Why would a man show his heart, something no one saw, feelings nothing but a flaw. In the middle of this life. You appeared walking in the door, lit up the room like never before. Why would you notice me? Your too amazing too believe. Looking at me was just the start. Through this icy layer you saw, something in me that was a draw. It didn’t take long too realize what I was seeing. This shell starts melting. The sight of your beauty making it feel balmy. You soft touch warms my heart. It makes these feelings raw How I love January’s thaw These days, no more icy shell! You dug me out of my mess. With an open heart I confess; Love for you I’ll never withdraw. How I love January’s thaw!!
