The wisdom of this world Is foolishness to God above. Christ’s sacrificial crucifixion— A mighty measure of His love. The message of Christ crucified Was to the Jews a stumbling block; To the Gentiles foolishness; To both a type of roadblock. God chooses the foolish things To confound the wise. Fishermen to tell the gospel— Ultimately despised. The Message of the Cross Tells of God’s bountiful love; Those who followed Christ, Received his power from above. For most were simple men Not of higher education; In simplicity God is glorified; Needs no human wisdom of foundation. God wants us to boast In His power from heaven; His wise, precious word By His Holy Spirit driven.
