Heaven's Moonlight Serenade
Quiet, beautiful Heaven's moonlight serenade, being played out for me tonight. Glad is my heart as I sit up in the protective arms of a giant Spider tree. Diamonds sparkle, shine in this dark and silken sky. I can hear below the river toads whisper sweet nothings into their lady's ear. Among the sandy wash and thorny desert mesquite trees, underneath the cacti, brier; my neighbors the snakes and spiders are out and on their way to act out their deadly hunt. The young coyotes practice their shrill cries, then they run, jump and play. No their parents are not far away, but I am not afraid for they respect me and I respect them. That makes us friends. Crickets add their own musical lyrics this night. Special friends are here for me, special friends are here for me, special friends even until the end. Even if there is no end. Light from this night's sky casts its white and silver rays down upon my place of silent observance, upon my newly awakened awareness.
