One Too Many
Ohhhh, they brought me flowers That is so very sweet But why are they laying them Right down by my feet? What's going on I really don't know Last thing I remember I was driving real slow I saw a bright light It was flashing red But I couldn't focus It just hurt my head I must have made it though I really don't know Too many drinks I had somewhere to go So I got in my car Tried to drive home I was feeling tired And so very alone Just wanted to lay down Take a little nap The next thing I know There's glass in my lap I could hear a squeal Sounds of metal crashing Pain in my body Forever lasting But now I'm awake My loved ones are here Yeah that's all it was Just a silly nightmare Need to say thanks for the flowers But I can't turn my head Oh my god, I can't move I think I'm dead Yes, the flowers are wreaths And in this coffin I lie I drove drunk last night I guess I did die My family is crying I didn't mean to make them sad One less than the legal limit Is all that I had But one too many holds new meaning for me As family and friends say a tearful goodbye I am left all alone And in this coffin I lie
