A Forgotten Place
This forgotten land whispers tales of old, Of struggles, triumphs, and stories untold, In the shadows of history, it quietly weeps, A place where the past forever sleeps. In the retrospection of the Barannqwe everflowing stream, Where dead cattle lie and abandoned graveyards gleam, Unaccomplished forefathers' dreams linger in the air, Dinalanyana, Matomporo, and Sandweza's despair. Khuting, Mpenteke, and Kobonngo gums still stand tall, Over partly bare Kachikau grounds, they watch over all, Mampimpinyane's in Kataba leaping with grace, Dropping bitter tears where Kgosi Mologasele rests in his place. But amidst the desolation, there's a beauty to find, In the quiet moments, in the whispers of the wind, For in this forgotten place, there's a timeless grace, A spirit that endures, a sacred space. So let us remember the Barannqwe stream, And the souls that haunt its waters, like a dream, For in this forgotten land, there's a lesson to learn, To honor the past and let its memory burn.
