Seeing Faults
It isn't hard to see the faults, Of all those 'round about us, And point them out to others, As we make note of the status, Of those who seem to lean toward, A certain type of weakness, While building up our vision, Of our own virtues and meekness. It seems we tend to turn blind eyes, On unattractive habits, And make excuses for ourselves, Or run like frightened rabbits, When faced with certain frailtys, Or faults we don't want mentioned, For after all we're not the ones, Who sorely need correction. It isn't hard to see the faults, Of brothers and of sisters, But seeing faults when they're our own, Can burn until it blisters. (Some people will have their neighbor tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail for the same things that they, themselves have been guilty of in the past or even that they are presently doing right now. But if it's something they are doing, they will make excuses for themselves or their family members. For them there is always an excuse. Funny isn't it.) The Bible tells us: "JUDGE NOT BRETHREN, LEST YE BE JUDGED YOURSELVES. FOR IN THE WAY THAT YOU JUDGE YOU SHALL BE JUDGED; AND BY YOUR STANDARD OF MEASURE IT SHALL BE MEASURED TO YOU." Matthew7:1-5
