EVEN YOUR COUNTENANCE DIDN’T COUNT Stars followed you in your path While wicked was my wrath I was mad and angry at everyone But it was only my fault when all was said and done The moon revealed its brightly lit face And reflected the countenance of your utter grace While I strolled the street in search of peace As you stood by watching my need increase When skies were grey you turned them blue Because even Heaven knows the beauty in you While inside me was a prayer for strength But my habit only grew in power and length Demons were made to bow at your knees And in the cold you made sure even roses wouldn’t freeze But I froze in the winter and sweated in the summer’s heat And then you finally left me when I claimed defeat © 2011.….~free cee!~ Phreepoetree
